What I’m Up To Right Now [July 2021]

I currently live in Vancouver, BC with my roommate Pete Z. I've been very happy lately. Feeling productive and pretty at ease about my projects. Things are really moving fast for me, and I'm just surrendering to whatever happens.

I've been filming my music video footage in preparation for my next song release on July 27th. It's a great banjo-inspired EDM track...like, tropical house meets country music, sort of. It's really catchy.

Here's the cover art for it. You can pre-save the song on Spotify here.

I found a great marketing agency to help me out with my online presence and marketing my music. I've just started working with them, and I'm very excited for it.

I have also started working with producer/songwriter/film composer Austin Danson, who has mentored me about getting started on TikTok. I'm still not 100% convinced that social media is a good thing, but so far my experience using TikTok has been great and I've started building some fun collaborative relationships with other artists on it, so that's cool.

So much going on...in early July I did a photoshoot with Karolina Turek, who is soooo encouraging and fun to shoot with. The images are so beautiful!

Here are a few:

I was like, wow. These photos are awesome.

Around the same time in July, I signed up for banjo lessons from Devon Wells in Coquitlam, BC. He's such a good teacher. I've learned a few classic folk songs. I love it so much.

Work is great. We continue to grow our team and revenue. We experienced a significant SEO/traffic/algorithm issue this past month, which was a little stressful but also a great opportunity to learn a ton of technical SEO stuff.

July has been a really packed month. Even so, I've had enough time to play around, sit around with my banjo, enjoy a beer on a patio from time to time, and even go out horseback riding for the first time in many years. It's been a fun summer.
